Micromechanical exfoliation method
In 2004, Geim et al. successfully exfoliated and observed single-layer graphene from highly oriented pyrolytic graphite for the first time using the micromechanical exfoliation method. Geim's research group successfully prepared quasi-two-dimensional graphene using this method, observed its morphology, and revealed the reasons for the existence of the two-dimensional crystal structure of graphene. The micromechanical exfoliation method can produce high-quality graphene.
